As a freshly unveiled addition to Apple's line up, the 6.1-inch iPhone 15 promises longevity, ensuring its presence as part of the flagship offerings until September 2024. This assurance means you can confidently anticipate that a newer and superior model won't emerge imminently. The line up undergoes a notable transformation with the transition from the Lightning port, a staple on every iPhone for over a decade, to a USB-C port. The iPhone 15 is powered by the A16 Bionic chip, which consumes 20 percent less power while delivering enhanced performance and 50 percent more memory bandwidth compared to the A15 Bionic chip found in the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus. In terms of camera enhancements, the iPhone 15 boasts a new 48-megapixel Main camera equipped with a quad-pixel sensor, which by default captures 24-megapixel photos. Additionally, the updated Main camera introduces a new 2x Telephoto option that is intelligently cropped from the full camera capture. Building upon the Emergency SOS via satellite feature introduced with the iPhone 14 line up, this year sees an expansion to include Roadside Assistance via satellite. Apple has collaborated with service agencies like AAA in the United States to enable users facing vehicle issues while outside of cellular signal range to request assistance. This service can be accessed either through their AAA membership or on a fee basis.
